Star Party & Candlelight Hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes

Join the National Park Service and members of the Grand Traverse Astronomical Society for a special evening under the stars at Sleeping Bear Dunes!

GTAS volunteers will have telescopes set up to provide views of celestial objects visible in the summer night sky. Whether you're an experienced observer or looking through a telescope for the first time, we'd love to share the wonders of the universe with you.

Visitors can also enjoy the park's Candlelight Hike and experience the beauty of the dunes after dark. This event is free with a valid park pass.

GTAS telescopes and volunteers will be available throughout the evening, weather permitting.
